Day 5: Noto, the “Stone Garden” city and UNESCO World Heritage site. Marzamemi, Portopalo – Overnight in Syracuse
Day 6: Ragusa, Modica, Scicli – Overnight in Syracuse
Day 7: Caltagirone and Villa Romana – Overnight in Agrigento
Day 8: Agrigento: the Valley of the Temples – Overnight in Palermo
Day 9: Palermo, city guided tour and Monreale – Overnight in Palermo
Day 10: Return journeys from Palermo Airport on your own.

Day by Day Program

Day 1: Arrival in Catania 
Arrive independently at Catania Airport and transfer to your hotel. Meals are free. Overnight in Catania.

Day 2: Discovering Catania
Meet your guide after breakfast for a city tour. Explore the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral of Sant’Agata, a prime example of Sicilian Baroque architecture. Palazzo degli Elefanti, the city hall, and don’t miss the bustling Pescheria fish market located behind the Cathedral. Enjoy a refreshing selz-limone e sale or an authentic arancino at a local kiosk facing Piazza Bellini Gardens. Meals are free; overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Etna & Taormina Excursion
Meet your private driver and guide for a full-day trip to Volcano Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 21, 2013. Cross the Valle del Bove and ascend to 2,000 meters, where you’ll visit the Silvestri Craters and walk inside one of them.  Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant at your leisure. In the afternoon, explore the stunning hilltop town of Taormina, perched on Monte Tauro with breathtaking views of the sea, Mount Etna, and Calabria. After the visit, return to Catania. Dinner free and overnight.

Day 4: Syracuse, Archaeological Area & Ortigia
Meet your private driver and guide for a full-day exploration of Syracuse, once the most powerful city of Magna Grecia. Discover the archaeological park in Neapolis, hometo the Greek Theatre, the Altar of Hieron, the Dionysius Ear, the Paradise Latomia, and the Roman Amphitheatre. Continue to the historic island of Ortigia, where you’ll visit the stunning Duomo built within a Greek temple, the Aretusa Fountain, and other notable monuments. Optional visit to the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum, the well-preserved Jewish Mikveh, or the San Giovanni Catacombs. Return to your hotel in Syracuse at the end of the day. Lunch and dinner are free.

Day 5: Noto, Marzamemi & Portopalo
Meet your guide after breakfast to explore Noto’sBaroque treasures, including Porta Reale, San Francesco all’Immacolata, Santa Chiara, the Church of the Most Holy Savior, Palazzo Ducezio, the Cathedral, and Via Nicolaci, famous for the Infiorata flower festival. Consider a wine tasting at a nearby winery for lunch.  Next, visit Marzamemi, a charming fishing village with a historic tuna fishery. Continue to Portopalo, exploring its territory including Capo Passero Island and the Currents Island: the small, rounded island connected to the mainland by an artificial bridge (often destroyed by the sea) becomes a peninsula at low tide, offering spectacular views. Dinner free and overnight in Syracuse.

Day 6: Ragusa – Modica – Scicli
Meet your private driver and guide after breakfast and embark on an exploration of the stunning locations that define the Ibleo region. The first stop is Ragusa Ibla, whose historic center offers a glimpse of Sicily that is increasingly rare to find today. The city’s symbol is the Duomo di San Giorgio, located next to the Iblei Gardens, where you can admire three beautiful churches inside. Continue your visit to Piazza Pola, Piazza Duomo with its magnificent Baroque façade, and the neoclassical dome of San Giorgio.  After the sightseeing, transfer to Modica, a charming town nestled between two ancient quarries along a riverbed, which was once underground. Known as a Baroque jewel, Modica is famous for its architecture, its renowned chocolate, and as the birthplace of Nobel laureate Salvatore Quasimodo. Break for a free lunch before heading to Scicli, a magnificent Baroque town that resembles a nativity scene. The town boasts two masterpieces of human creativity: Via Mormino Penna and Palazzo Beneventano, considered the most beautiful Baroque palace in Sicily. Dinner free and overnight in Syracuse.

Day 7: Caltagirone & Villa Romana del Casale
Depart for Caltagirone, the Sicilian capital of ceramics and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This wonderful town features notable monuments such as the Santa Maria del Monte staircase, famous for its 442 ceramic-tiled steps, the Cathedral of San Giuliano, the Church of San Giuseppe, municipal gardens, and numerous artisan shops. Next, venture into the heart of Sicily to immerse yourself in the vibrant colors of the Roman mosaics at Villa del Casale, located just a few kilometers from Piazza Armerina. Dating from the 4th century, these mosaics depict scenes of daily life and remain astonishingly vivid after centuries. Free meals and overnight stay in Agrigento. 

Day 8: Agrigento – Valley of the Temples 
Discover Agrigento, “the most beautiful of cities inhabited by mortals,” famed for its ancient ruins celebrated by poets and writers throughout history. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. The excursion includes a visit to the famous “City of the Gods,” featuring the Temple of Juno, Concordia, Hercules, and the archaeological site of Zeus and the Dioscuri. After free lunch, enjoy a panoramic stop at the Scala dei Turchi, a stunning natural white cliff unique to Sicily. Then, continue to Palermo. Free meals and overnight in your hotel in Palermo. 

Day 9: Palermo
Meet your guide after breakfast for a city tour highlighting Palermo’s treasures: the majestic Palatine Chapel and the stunning Quattro Canti. The city’s history dates back to the 7th century BC when the Phoenicians settled along the Kemonia River. Next, visit the Teatro Massimo and Palermo Cathedral, two impressive landmarks sure to leave a lasting impression. Continue to the Royal Palace, which served as the residence of many Sicilian monarchs. Break for free lunch, then in the afternoon, explore Monreale, where Arab-Norman art and architecture reached their peak. A visit to the Cathedral is a must, showcasing a harmonious blend of styles from various periods since its founding in 1185. 
Free evening and overnight stay in Palermo. 

Day 10: Transfer to Palermo Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Palermo airport for your onward journey back home, bringing home unforgettable memories of Sicily’s rich history, culture, and beauty.
