The name Calabria most likely derives from the ancient Italic people called the Calabri, who inhabited this region at the southern tip of the Italian peninsula. This land evokes a mountainous landscape, sometimes rugged and wild, other times lush and fertile, characterized by its torrents, fortified caves that stretch down to the crystal-clear sea surrounding it.
Calabria’s territory enchants with its spectacular coasts, charming medieval villages, and a rich and diverse historical and cultural heritage. The region is a true mosaic of archaeological evidence: from prehistoric remains to Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Norman influences, all harmoniously intertwined within the landscape and local architecture.
The Calabrians, welcoming and courteous, are ready to accompany us on a journey to discover their ancient traditions, authentic cuisine, and centuries-old customs, making this region one of the most fascinating treasures of Southern Italy.
