What if you met Shylock in Venice and took a walk from Rialto to the Ancient Venetian Ghetto?
What if he performed some of the most famous scenes taken from The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare?
Join us for a 90-minute walk with Shylock and a tour guide who will introduce you to some of the most interesting places in this wonderful city!
The actor will be in historical costume and will perform the original version of the Shakespearean text. The tour guide will summarize the play, provide Shakespearean references contextualized to the locations encountered along the walk, and share various historical facts and anecdotes about these places.
The tour begins at Rialto, in Campo San Giacometo, where the first scene will be performed. Then enjoy a shuttle gondola ride from Rialto Market to Campo Santa Sofia in the Cannaregio district, followed by a walking tour that includes four more scenes leading up to the Venetian Ghetto.
