For those who just want an overview of Venice’s main sights, we recommend this walk through the main streets of the city. It begins with an introduction to the monuments in St Mark’s Piazza:
The Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basin, together with the Basilica, Bell Tower and Clock Tower.
We then head towards “La Fenice”– the opera house taking its name from the mythological bird with the power to rise again from its ashes – before continuing on to the famous “Scala del Bovolo” at Palazzo Contarini and finally the Grand Canal lined with its splendid palaces. The walk will end around the Rialto Bridge.
